I am delighted inform you all that preparations on implementing my bursary‘s study titled “Bioethics of biometrics among policy makers, implementers and users within the health care system and medical research in Malawi” are going very well. I am very optimistic that I will submit the protocol to the College of Medicine Research and Ethics Committee (COMREC) for an ethical review by the end of June. This is probably my last blog before the actual results are produced, so far we have managed to transcribe 40 interviews which will form the basis for the analysis of the data. As indicated in my last update, transcribing took a lot of time to complete since there was only one person assigned to do all the 40 interviews.
