MERETI tool

Hi everyone

We mentioned the MERETI self assessment tool for IRBs in our research ethics session last Thursday. The developer of the tool has just posted more information on it in GlobalHealthReviewers.org - his post is here if you'd like to take a look!

I had so much fun last week - thank you all

Best wishes

Consent templates

Some participants have asked about the informed consent templates produced by the Kilifi MOP that were mentioned during the Summer School. Here is a link to the 'Global Health Trials' website, where KEMRI have shared several of their consent templates:

Summer School ends on a high note

What a fabulous end to the summer school. It was fantastic to hear the project presentations by all the MOPs! Everyone put in such an incredible amount of thought into their projects. And all  of these are projects that will hopefully be developed. I can't wait to see what happens!

Day 2 of the Summer School

Ended with presentations from two of our four GHBN Fellows. Very interesting stuff. Lots of ideas and advice floating around the room - how best to gather representative community views? How to apply ethics guidelines to health economics? Lots of questions but also some answers. Looking forward to the next day!

Day 1 of the GHBN Summer School

What a terrific day today! It's wonderful to spend time with such an  enthusiastic and interesting group of people. I learned so much and could not imagine a better group of collaborators. I joined the Malawi-Liverpool MOP in the project development session today and wow- what terrific ideas were discussed. I think there's a fantastic community engagement project brewing here! What about you? Did you come away today fueled with ideas?

Latest update on rooms at St. Catherine's College

Dear Summer School delegates,

I've just heard that although many of you who arrive early in the day will be able to check-in early, those of you who've asked for late check-out will probably not be able to. You will have to check-out of your rooms by 10:00am on your final day, although you can store your luggage in the Porter's Lodge until you are ready to leave.

I apologise for the inconvenience but the college is very busy this summer, and your rooms will need to be prepared…
