Dear all,
I hope you are doing well. Just a quick update on what I am doing now. We have just held 2 days (11 and 12 April) Data Sharing workshop in the North (Hanoi) of Vietnam. The workshop included 20 members from ethical committee of 5 different institutions and 2 guests from the Ministry of Health (MoH). All participants spent the whole day 1 on discussing the challenges, issues, identify where we are in the process of data sharing in Vietnam context. The second day was shown with discussions on hot topics such as informed consent, ethical issues when reviewing protocol. The most interesting part was the bilateral conversations amongst us (Oxford University Clinical Research Unit, the MoH, and delegates from different institutions/hospitals) to determine the ways forward. I really enjoy participating in the play roles in informed consent project (Susan as the Sponsor PI, Long as Study doctor and I as the patient), we did video record the drama and it is using as video material for our GCP training (today) J .
Another initiative was that I have met some doctor to set up the meeting, discussion to learn about their ethical issues and the possibility to set up a community advisory board. So I really appreciate if anyone has this experience that you could share with me.
Best,
Thuy
